This last week, we said Yes to Adventure and got outside of our comfort zone (big time). Yesterday we swam with sharks at one of the world’s premier dive sites – Sipadan!

Along the way, I definently had my doubts, struggles and even some tears. I was so overwhelmed with all the skills and tricks of scuba diving that were so new to me that I could feel my mind overtaking me.

What if I couldn’t figure it out and get certified? What if I never get comfortable and miss out on such an incredible opportunity to dive in this remote place on Borneo?

Then I remembered, take it one small step at a time. Focus on what you can do, piece by piece.

First get down the mask clear (emptying water from your mask while breathing underwater), then learn how to navigate in the deep blue waters.

I’ve always been a goal setter, and my woes while learning to dive reminded me the same type of fears and hesitations can exist with anything we set our mind to.

If we already know how to do it, the goal isn’t big enough!! We will face challenges and may stumble along the way. That means we are growing! And man, is that rewarding.
