I Start Living Freely
By: Reed Dennis
I start living freely
When I adventure out,
When I read a book,
When I tune in to the sounds of nature
When I fully appreciate myself.
I start living freely
When I acknowledge my worth
When I stand for the faith of others.
I start living freely
When I liberate from complacency
Taking new steps down unfamiliar paths
When I shed my limitations
When I wear my scars authentically
And speak to strangers like they are friends.
I start living freely
When I awaken my spirit
And its unbridled energy
So the vision in my head
Can be held in my hand.
I start living freely
When I decide I must, and cut off from all other options,
When I act despite my uncertainty
When I take responsibility
When I allow love to flow through
Without judgement or a fight
Just creating…
I start living freely!
Sovereign Being
By: Reed Dennis
Sovereign you are
An eternal soul
A powerful being
Part of the whole.
Love you are
An unlimited force
A divine creator
Part of the source.
Student you are
Here to learn
To free your mind
To your heart return.
Teacher you are
Here to stand
In light and truth
With extended hand.
It’s Transitory
By: Reed Dennis
Fear not says the man
I’ve got you covered
Put your mind at ease
No need to hurry
Or stew in your worry
Your feelings are transitory
Spend not says the man
Invest in the dollar
It provides stability
Money in the bank
Is a safe as a tank
Inflation is transitory
Prepare not says the man
Consume all you want
Eat, drink, and be merry
Good times are in store
We’ll always get more
This shortage is transitory
Fend not says the man
I’ve got you protected
From all foreign enemies
Lay down your arms
We won’t be harmed
These wars are transitory
Gather not says the man
You could fall ill
And cause all calamity
This is our shot
It can’t be for not
Our sickness is transitory
Cough not says the man
There’s germs in the air
A virus you cannot see
So cover your face
As you go place to place
Masks are just transitory
Hide not says the man
We’re past all that now
It’s time to play and be free
What happened has happened
The curve has been flattened
Isolation was transitory
Hunker down says the man
A breakout has occurred
We’re now under lock and key
Just stay in your home
And don’t you dare roam
Quarantine is transitory
Drive not says the man
Stay on your couch
And conserve your energy
This pain at the pump
Is but a speed bump
Gas prices are transitory
Hire not says the man
Your workers who quit
Still need to make money
They’re returning in mass
To do anything you ask
Unemployment is transitory
Speak not says the man
Your points are too valid
And too many seem to agree
Your voice must be silenced
While we wrangle defiance
Censorship is transitory
Lighten up says the man
The power’s back on
We’ve restored security
The grid shutting down
Was just a few towns
That darkness was transitory
Work not says the man
You’re but a victim
Take no responsibility
We’ll write checks to the masses
Until this thing passes
Defaults are transitory
Suspect not says the man
Those cookies and cameras
Are recording anonymously
We must monitor all actions
Lest we find infractions
Surveillance is transitory
Question not says the man
Your biometrics and money
Are your digital identity
Now we’ll have control
Of your life on the whole
Sovereignty is transitory
Fret not says the man
You’ll be able to sustain
On food or whatever we call it
As long as you comply
And don’t question why
We’ll keep supplying your wallet
Cry not says the man
For that freedom you had
Is not worthy of your lament
You now get to do
What we tell you to
Your enslavement is permanent.
I Am What I Am
By: Reed Dennis
I Am Us and You are We
Our Infinite Possibility
Resides beyond what eyes can see
A Vision of Perfect clarity.
I Am Light to point the way
Providing space for our dreams to play
Shining brightness into the day
Listening for what our hearts may say.
I Am For you, not against
Perpetually here, no distance
All on purpose, no happenstance
Rhythm unfolding a Perfect dance.
I Am One seamless fusion
What is Real beyond your delusion
Certainty amidst confusion
Only separate in illusion.
I Am Source on a mission
Replacing Faith over suspicion
Free to be without condition
Always Present without petition.
I Am Son and a Brother
Daughter and a Sister of Others
Both a Father and a Mother
As to You so unto Another.
I Am Greatness seen in You
An Answer Universally True
Light untempered by fearful hue
For What is Done, they cannot undo.
I Am Peace and peace shall be
Forever living in Energy
Wholeness in Connectivity
I Am What I Am, And You are We.
Thankful For It All
By: Reed Dennis
Thankful for the journey
Thankful for the steps
Thankful for the shallows
That led me to the depths.
Thankful for the normal
Thankful for the strange
Thankful for the static
That pushed me into change.
Thankful for the day
Thankful for the night
Thankful for the darkness
That showed me to the Light.
Thankful for the joy
Thankful for the pain
Thankful for the loss
That cleared the space for gain.
Thankful for the giving
Thankful for receiving
Thankful for the doubt
That brought me to believing.
Thankful for the lack
Thankful for the gift
Thankful for the stillness
That helped me feel the shift.
Thankful for direction
Thankful for the choice
Thankful for the silence
That let me hear His voice.
Thankful for the sadness
Thankful for the cheer
Thankful for the Love
That told me not to fear.
Thankful for the failure
Thankful for success
Thankful for the worst
That drove me to my best.
Thankful for the hand
Thankful for the fist
Thankful for the comfort
That made me yearn for risk.
Thankful for the ending
Thankful for the start
Thankful for the closure
That opened up my heart.
Thankful for the rise
Thankful for the fall
Thankful for the One
Thankful for it All.
If Only You’ll Comply
By: Reed Dennis
One night in a hopeless place
Lucifer came to me
With promises of better days
And quite the simple plea…
He said, “Give me all your problems
You need no longer try
I’ll assume responsibility
If only you’ll comply;
I’ll take all your emotion
So you won’t have to cry
I’ll bear your burdens for you
If only you’ll comply;
I’ll reset all your debts
And provide you UBI
You’ll get this security
If only you’ll comply;
I’ll inject you with a potion
So you won’t think you’ll die
I’ll clothe you as a savior
If only you’ll comply;
I’ll house you in a shelter
A box that’s safe and dry
You’ll never have to leave it
If only you’ll comply.”
He watched me with amusement
As I entertained his plea
And since I had no questions
He continued on with glee…
“I’ll babysit your children
Teach them mastery
I’ll mold them into something
Just leave it all to me;
I’ll place you in an order
In a job with dignity
You’ll serve the greater good
Just leave it all to me;
I’ll plant a chip inside you
Give you identity
You’ll never go unnoticed
Just leave it all to me;
I’ll mask all your symptoms
Of a false reality
Just turn over your well being
Outsource it all to me;
I’ll translate all your difference
Into plain equality
Just give me your uniqueness
It’s all the same to me.”
He could sense my resistance
As my heart began to muse
So he pressed harder onward
Before I could refuse…
“I’ll remove all your obstacles
So you’ll never have to lose
I’ll fix life in your favor
To what I know you’d choose;
I’ll feed you your essentials
Your GMO-fried news
I’ll inform you in my image
It’s what I know you’d choose;
I’ll weaponize your fear
And direct you how to use
I’ll aim it at your brother
It’s what I know you’d choose;
I’ll create a system for you
To control your attitude
You’ll be happy in this system
Of indentured servitude;
I’ll censor you opponents
And crush all you dissenters
You signed away your rights
In this contract that you entered.”
He shouted with a rage
With commanding dictate
I wanted to rebuke him
But he would not abate.
“I’ll cover you in darkness
And smother you in terror
You’ll obey my every order
I tolerate no error;
I’ll deliver you to evil
To fury and disaster
You’ll do as you are told
The bidding of your master;
I’ll put my mark upon you
You’ll be my property
You gave me all your power
You gave it all to me.”
I could feel his weight upon me
My walls were caving in
My game had played out for me
Before I could begin;
I tried to stand up to him
But cut off at the knees
I found myself bowing
At the altar of disease.
Then at this very moment
With my spirit all but taken
A light grew inside me
And I started to awaken;
I remembered that my power
Was only mine to give
I remembered that my life
Was only mine to live
I remembered that the Truth
Doesn’t exist in a lie,
And such hell can’t befall us
If we don’t comply.
